Starting February 26, 2014, BHS will no longer have a delayed start time on Wednesdays for the remainder of the school year.


 Blackford High School starts the school day at 8am and ends at 3:18 pm, with the exception of Wednesdays.

Wednesdays school day begins at 8:30am and ends at 3:18pm.

The school office hours are
7:30am-4pm.

 UPcoming Events

 

  Open Practice for those interested in being part of the Men's Tennis team next fall will be on Thursday, April 17th, from 3:30-4:40pm.  NO Experience Required!!  Meet at tennis courts.  (If there is rain, meet at the student entrance).  If you can't attend this meeting, get a practice schedule from the athletic office or see Mr. Murray.
 
  Best Buddies meeting after school on Thursday, April 17th, in Mrs. B-Z's room (rm 100).
 
  Science Club will have a meeting on April 18th, right after school in Ms. Reynolds' room.  The meeting will run until 4:15pm.
 
  Junior College Trip to BSU & IPFW will take place on April 21st.  Lunch and transportation will be provided.  
 
  Academic Honor Jacket Program will be held on Monday, April 21st, at Lake Placid, 6pm.
 
  Math Blitz Night will be on Thursday, April 24th, 3:30-6:30pm.
 
   Baseball Practice begins on Monday at 6:15am.  We will also practice after school until 6pm.  It will be the same schedule all week except for now practice after school on Friday (that is the beginning of spring break).  The schedule is posted on the Athletic Facebook page and Coach Uggen will hand out copies Monday mornings.
 
  Room 220 will be open from 3:20-5pm Monday through Friday for any student to work on ALEKS.   
   2014 U19 Spring Soccer signups are now available.  $25 signup fee, 8th graders are welcome to move up for the spring session (April-May).  For more information call 499-1100.   
 

 Football Open Gym will be held Monday evenings in the auxiliary gym, 5:30-7pm.

 
 

The Bruin Brewer's Coffee Stand is open every morning before school. The prices are $1.25 for coffee and $1.00 for hot chocolate. 

 
   Miss Heritage Days Queen Pageant 2014 for ages 15-18.  Applications are in the front office.  Sponsor fee is $30 and the deadline is May 1st.   
   Blackford Area Baseball League will be offering a Spring League for any 13, 14, and 15 year old boys, not playing high school baseball.  There will also be a regular Babe Ruth League following the Spring League.  The Spring League will begin on or about April 7th until the middle of May.  The Babe Ruth League will start on or about May 19th.  The cost for each league is $50.  Please see the front office for more information.
