Blackford High School starts the school day at 8:03 a.m. and dismisses at 3:08 p.m. every day.

The school office hours are 7:30 a.m.- 4:00 p.m.

BHS Announcements

 
 Bruin Club will held on Mondays and Wednesdays in the library from 3:08-4:30pm.


 Juniors and Seniors interested in meeting with college representatives should sign up in Guidance.

 FCA T-shirt order forms are in Mrs. Fear's room (246).

Students interested in working the election poll on November 4th should sign up in Guidance.  Workers must be 16 years old and have a 3.0 or higher GPA.

 Best Buddies Match-Up Party will be held on Wednesday, October 1st, 3:30pm, in the BHS cafeteria.  See Mrs. BZ, Mrs. Wallace, or Best Buddies President, Elayna Justice for more information.

A Jostens representative will be taking class ring, cap and gown, and graduation announcement orders on Thursday, October 2nd, during lunch.

 There will be a Science Club officers meeting on Thursday, October 2nd.  See Ms. Reynolds for more information.

 There will be a meeting for current NHS members on Friday, October 3rd, at 7:15am, in the library.

 The 2014 Fall Leadership Conference for BPA will be held at Ball State University on Saturday, October 4th.  BPA members interested in attending should see Mrs. Minner..

  Students interested in bowling on the BHS bowling team should sign up in the Athletic Office.  The team is open to both boys and girls.  Those interested will be contacted for an informational meeting on October 5th at Northside Lanes.  If you have any questions, please contact David Dick at 765-748-6964.

 Student Lead Conferences will be held on October 8-9th, from 3:30-7:30pm.

 There will be a Fall Choir Concert on Wednesday, October 8th, at 8pm, in the BHS gymnasium. 

 The registration deadline for the SAT is Thursday, October 9th.

 Fall Break is the week of October 13-17th!!

A representative from Wabash College will be at school on Monday, October 20th, at 9am.  This visit will be for male students only.  Sign up in Guidance Office to meet with the representative.

 High School Student Trinity Essay Contest

Students are required to write a 500-700 word essay using MLA format about their future plans after high school.  They should include the following information in their essays:
  • What are your future plans?
  • What does college mean to you?
  • Why do you want to go to college?
  • How can you be successful in your college career.


1st Place Winner will receive $500 to his/her 529 Plan

2nd-3rd Place Winners will receive a college T-Shirt

Essays are due by October 10, 2014 and must be turned into the Guidance Office.
