Blackford High School starts the school day at 8:03 a.m. and dismisses at 3:15 p.m. every day.

The school office hours are 7:30 a.m.- 4:00 p.m.

BHS Announcements

 Pictures needed for senior slideshow.  Bring a senior picture, baby/childhood photo, and group/favorite photo to Mrs. Minner by April 24th!!

 Bruin Club will held on Mondays and Wednesdays in the library from 3:15-4:30pm.

2015-16 BHS Cheerleading Tryouts will be held May 3-7th, after school.  Tryout practices will be May 3rd-May 6th at BHS.  Sunday, May 3rd practice will be from 5-8pm.  Tryout practices for May 4-6th will take place 6-8pm and can go until 8:30pm, if needed.  The official cheerleading tryout date is Thursday, May 7th, after school. 

The tryout form is due to Mrs. Mealy ASAP!!  The form can be picked up in the front office or downloaded from the BHS website.

 The BHS Football Mattress Fundraiser will be held on Saturday, April 25th, from 8:30am to 7pm, in the auxiliary gym.

 The Most Influential Educator Banquet will be held on Monday, April 27th, at Taylor University, 6pm. 

 ACT testing for Juniors will take on Tuesday, April 28th, in the upper gyms.

ECA Biology testing will take place during the day on Wednesday, April 29-30th.
 The BFT Future Teacher Scholarship Application is available in the guidance office and online under the guidance tab.  Applications are due back April 30th.

 The Blackford Bruin Boosters Athletic Scholarship Application is available in the guidance office and online under the guidance tab.  Applications are due May 1st.

The First Annual Bruin 5K / Walk will be held on Saturday, May 2nd from 9-11:30am.  The race will take place at the BHS school, but participants will follow the BHS cross country/track route.  Click here to access the entry form for the event.

 BHS Prom will take place on Saturday, May 2nd, from 7:30-11pm, at Lake Placid.  If you are bringing a guest, please be sure to pick up the dance request form and return it to the front office by Thursday, April 30th. 

 There will be an Early College Parent meeting on Wednesday, May 6th, at 6pm.

 Seniors:  Jostens will be distributing caps and gowns on Friday, May 8th, during both lunch mods.

 The JROTC Banquet will be held on Friday, May 8th, at 6pm.

The BHS Art Show will be held May 11-15th, in the gym.
 ECA testing for English and Algebra will be held on May 12-13th and May 19-20th.
 There will be a BHS Band Concert on Monday, May 11th, at 6pm, in the gym.

 BHS Arts Week will take place May 18-22nd.  Here is the schedule of events taking place during the week:

Monday:  BHS Band perform at Emens Auditorium at Ball State at 7:30pm.
Tuesday: Montpelier and Northside Bands and Choirs perform at BHS at 7pm.
Wednesday:  BJHS Bands and Choirs perform at BHS at 8pm.
Friday:  BHS Choirs' "Pop Concert" at BHS at 5:30pm.

Miss Heritage Days Queen Pageant forms are now available in the front office.
**Weather Make-up Days for Students is March 23-25 and May 26-29 and June 1st, 2015.**
