Blackford County Schools

Food Services

Since there is a direct correlation between good nutrition and student success, our Food Services Department works hard to provide our students highly nutritious meals at a minimum cost. Protein rich and whole grain foods, lowfat white milk, and a variety of vegetables and fruits helps give BCS students the energy boost they need, both physically and mentally, to do their best every day.

We Serve Breakfast!

Mornings can be really crazy! The alarm doesn’t go off… The kids don’t want to get up... There’s no time to eat breakfast before the bus comes... or they’re just not ready to eat. If this sounds like your house, we have good news for you:

We serve breakfast at all of our Blackford County schools!

School breakfast will give your child a healthy start to the day. A nutritious breakfast helps students be more alert so they can learn more in class. Breakfast has vitamins and nutrients for a strong and healthy body.

Breakfast at school is affordable, too. If you qualify for free and reduced price meals, you also qualify for the breakfast program, with no additional paperwork. You can’t find a healthy breakfast at such a low cost anywhere else.

Help your child start the day right with school breakfast!

Free & Reduced Price Meals

If you believe your family may qualify for free or reduced price meals, please fill out the form located on this page. Families can complete a free and reduced form any time during the school year. If you have already filed a free and reduced form and were denied, but your income or household members have changed, you may now be eligible for this program. Please call the Food Service office. We can adjust your application over the phone. The forms are also available at your school office.
