For Staff:

BCS encourages all employees to self screen for COVID-19 symptoms daily. This chart from the Indiana State Department of Health outlines good screening tips and also outlines return to work expectations for students and staff.

On July 22nd, the ISDH released this guidance document for schools. This document outlines the responsibilities of the school district in regard to positive cases and reporting.

Assistant Superintendent Greg Roach will be the point of contact for the district for COVID-19 Related Reporting for staff. In the event that you have a concern or are being tested or confirmed positive, please contact your immediate supervisor and Greg Roach at 765-348-7550 ex. 1204 or via email groach@blackfordschools.org.

Mr. Roach will work with Amy Sargent, RN and the employee to determine close contacts for contact tracing and communicate with the ISDH as outlined in the document.

At the direction of the health department, employees or students determined to have close contact with a known positive case will be contacted and will stay home following the current guidance from the ISDH.

For Students:

In some cases, BCS will be notified by the Department of Health in the event of a student testing positive for COVID-19. In most cases, however, BCS will be contacted by a parent if the student tested positive.

The building CNA or Principal should contact Amy Sargent, RN, who will be the point of contact for the district for COVID-19 Related Reporting for students. Amy Sargent will work with the principals and teachers to determine close contact for contact tracing and communicate with the ISDH as outlined in the document.

At the direction of the health department, employees or students determined to have close contact with a known positive case will be contacted and will stay home following the current guidance from the ISDH.
