What are your school and office hours?

The regular schedule runs from 8:00 a.m. to 2:45 p.m. Please visit our School page for our Calendar page for school holidays.

How do I report my child absent? What is the school’s attendance policy?

Parents must notify the school of student absences no later than 8:30 a.m. on the day of the student’s absence. We will consider the absence unexcused if we do not receive notice within two school days of the child’s absence. If we do not hear from the student or family, we will attempt to contact the child’s parents to ensure there are no safety concerns. For more detailed information regarding our attendance policy, please consult the student handbook or the attendance policy print out.

What method of communication do you use for emergencies and snow days?

Blackford Primary School uses the Thrill Share system to alert parents of urgent matters such as emergencies, inclement weather schedule changes, and other events requiring immediate parent notification. Please confirm that your information is current within Skyward to ensure you receive crucial messages, as we use the Primary phone listed for each student’s Skyward Profile. We also use the following media outlets for weather notifications:

What are your student pick up/drop off procedures?

Drop Off:

Students are to arrive no earlier than 7:25 a.m. BPS utilizes a single point of entry. Students that are delivered by personal vehicles must use the main entrance to drop off between 7:25 and 8:00. Walkers will also enter at the main entrance. Buses deliver to Door 8.

Pick-Up:

At dismissal, Buses will load at the main entrance. Kindergarten car riders will be picked up at the West parking lot (Door 2). 1st and 2nd grade car riders will be picked up in the East parking lot (Door 8).

Blackford Schools qualify for Free meals for all students.

Where can I retrieve my child’s misplaced items?

The school lost and found is located in the front office. It is our policy to donate all unclaimed items to charity during school breaks.
