Meet BCS Transportation Coordinator Shannon Bannister and Bus Mechanic Greg Bonewit. Shannon is hard at work setting bus routes for the start of school, while Greg makes sure our buses are in top-top condition. We appreciate all they do to make sure our students are safely transported to and from school everyday. Some tips from the Transportation Dept. for the 2023-2024 school year: -Register your students ASAP so bus routes can be finalized. Our teachers are working hard this summer in professional development activities! Teachers from BPS and BIS attended the Smekens CompCon conference in French Lick earlier this week! After working with the Comprehension Playbook last school year, teachers came to this conference to expand their knowledge of the plays and topics for their grade levels. In addition, they discovered how to effectively schedule an English Language Arts (ELA) block, the power of helping students find their reading voices, while also learning various tips and techniques, and finding the best picture books to teach specific topics. Our teachers are excited to apply what they learned for this upcoming school year!
