Let's hear it for Meeka! Our own BJSHS senior Meeka Stalker was recognized this morning at Ivy Tech for obtaining her Associates Degree. (We repeat, as a high school senior!) Here Superintendent Chad Yencer congratulates Meeka for all her hard work!
Great job, Meeka! We are proud of you!

Mark your calendars, Bruins! The finish line isn't far now!

This week 3rd graders in Mrs. Rachael Shadiow's class at BIS have been learning all about procedural texts and identifying the text structure! One of the articles we read was all about making spaghetti. We followed the steps from the article and found out that even if it seems like “3 easy steps” it’s actually a lot of work! 😂 Hard work paid off though and they were able to enjoy a nice treat!

Thanks to the generous support of the Beta Xi Chapter of Tri Kappa in Hartford City, students in Mrs. Sydney Walter's Advanced Art classes had the opportunity to take a field trip to the Blackford County Arts Center. While on the trip, students viewed the Regional Student Art Exhibit, engaged in meaningful discussion about the works displayed, and created a collaborative artwork with students from Southern Wells. Students created their own personal stamps, which were used to make artworks featuring 4 areas of the fine arts- art, music, dance, and theater.

At the end of last week, our BJSHS junior high students had a fun field day for those who passed the last nine weeks. Students enjoyed a 3 v 3 basketball tournament, dodgeball vs the Hartford City Police Department, a movie, smash cart tourney and more! The event ended with students who had As and Bs having their names drawn to pie a teacher in the face!
